Telecommuting.
An ice storm just brushed my area today, enough to close schools because of the impact in the higher elevations. Since I knew it was coming, I chose to telecommute. Sometimes that can be nice. Today, with the kids around, it was a little busier. The view is out my window at about noon. The ice is mostly gone, the rain is falling and the creek is up. We had about 2 inches of rain, about half of our monthly average in one shot. Welcome to February.

I hear you! I also telecommute (with a 2.5 year old daily! Whew!). On top of that, I moved from FL to Portland, OR last summer! Looking out the window, things sure can seem dreary!
Hang in there! Spring is just around the corner! And remember all the reasons why you telecommute- those kiddos included!
I just read that if your daily commute is about 1 1/2 hours daily, and you decide to make a change and telecommute, you can save 2 1/2 months of work days per year. A crazy amount of time is wasted in traffic jams (not to mention environmental harms), so it is lucky that you have the option to telecommute.
I have been working for a company called ooVoo lately, and they offer a free video-messaging service that is geared toward telecommuters. You can video-conference with 6 people at one time, and still get great quality because it uses v. low bandwidth. Might be useful if you are a telecommuter! Let me know if you have any questions.
