Check out those melons

Pulled the last watermelon from the garden last night. I'd say mid-October is a pretty good run. I also harvested all the pumpkins. They were a bit disappointing. I had about 20, but they where all softball to bowling ball size. None of the bigger ones good for carving. I also pulled the last of the tripods supporting beans and tomatos, then ran the mower over everything. The last stuff left is the swiss chard, holding steady through the dry late summer and bugs. It's looking pretty good now, and adds a bit to salads. I'm hoping to do more in the garden next year, with some new equipment and better planning.
