SSSS24O*

*Single Speed Simulated Sub-24hour-Overnighter

It's what you do when you can't really leave the dog overnight to go camping and have fun on your own.

Full report here. Great fun was had by both man and beast.

Cool way to test out your gear setup. BTW, Monocacy Bottom Rd can be crossed. There's a decent sized stream ford, but right now it should be really low. Andy and I did it a couple of months ago on an adventure ride.

A couple of tips/thoughts:
- A lot of tents had be set up with just the ground cloth, poles and rain fly letting you loose the main tent portion. Can yours?
- The super thin, ultra-light thermarest is like a wafer but is great for on the bike camping.
- Use your rear rack for the tent/sleeping pad. You can still ditch the panniers.
- Small head lamp is key and can be had for cheap

Thanks! I was hesitant to go further on Monocacy because of the no trespassing signs and the sound of farm machinery a short distance into the woods. Maybe next time.
