Down Time

Coming off the vacation buzz, hot weather, a broken bike, a stupid dog, seriously suckful changes at work, and all the minor aggravations and responsibilities of being married and a dad are all conspiring to keep me bummed about life and almost completely unmotivated to do much more than sit around the house. Maybe I'll do something next week.

Update 8/17/2007: Hey, Apparently I'm not alone. Here's a study showing that men from 35-44 are the most unhappy. As usual, I'm late to the trend, since I'll only be 44 for another month.

Hey, you've still got an operational bike or two. Go for a quick spin, even if it's short. Always good for the soul!

Hey now, don't take it out on the dog. Dogs will be dogs after all.

And how did that cat pick up a glass of iced tea and pour it on the computer? I think there's more to that story than you want to admit, Scott

Not on, in. As in he was locked up in the back room so he wouldn't keep waking me up at 3am for food, somebody (else) left a glass on the desk, and he knocked it down on the way to the window because he hasn't figured out that he's a 20-lb doublewide cat.

G4 iMacs have vents on the bottom. Tea went right in there....

Re: Happiness/age update-
Yep. Things will really pick up when you hit 50. Then you can...wait, what was I talking about? And where are my glasses?

On the update--

You know, I really didn't need to be in the mainstream on this. Dang.

FWIW, I'll be 40 in December, so I'm at the bottom of the curve. :-P

I think I need to schedule a nice messy dirt-road ride for my birthday. Anybody want to come along?

Damn, I think I'm pretty happy, so screw that statistic. Pure crap...well, that, or maybe those surveyed haven't discovered the sublime pleasures of the microbrew, ha.

Good luck with the bike; like I said, it looks like it might have rusted from the inside before the crack developed. Hard to tell from the pic, of course.

Hey wait a minute! Am I older than you are? Only by a couple months, but still...I dont feel a day over 65.

But I finally got my arse on my bike again and have commuted to work this week...so I feel like a crippled 65 year old
